VoiceThread is a web-based place to discuss media. This tool is appropriate for ALL learners! In a VoiceThread, you can respond to media in five ways: by phone call, record your voice through a computer microphone doodle a message, text message, an audio file (MP3/WAV), and webcam. Each message can be no longer than 1 minute. VoiceThread is FREE.

In my classroom, students grades 3-5 will be practicing reading during Daily 5 When they complete a book, whether it is a chapter book or a picture book they will be required to give a short retell of the book and provide their opinion and or recommendation of the book. This assignment will be due once a month. The student may use any of the five ways to respond to the book. Additionally, the cover of the book must be included in their review.
